Textbook approach ...

This is a textbook of some quality dealing with pure aspects of logic and reason. It presents itself in a somewhat daunting manner to those unfamiliar with the subject. "Logic for Dummies" this is not. It is some years since I formally studied moral philosophy and so I have enjoyed re-acquainting myself with the book's material. However unless one has a genuine academic interest, which this book amply satisfies, it will not be other than a chore to read.

The standard

I have been a student and teacher of logic for a long time. This is the book I would recommend. We are suffering the loss of reason, and have a lot of problems in this country to show for it. Bad decisions produce bad consequences. This book is interesting to read. I has lots of good illustrations and exercises. It deals very well with deductive logic and inductive fallacies. It could be a little better on how to use sound inductive reasoning.
